Latest International News:The higher Education Minister of Pakistan has made a proposal that girls will have to wear hijab’s and has made it mandatory for all the government college girls and hence if they do so then they will be offered benefits of marks or grace marks if their is lack in their attendance percentage.
“Observance of hijab should be made mandatory for college girls,” Gilani was qouted by The Express Tribune on tuesday while he was addressing the Lahore board’s divisional directors .
Moreover he made an announcement to the public that all the hijab wearing girls, will be benefited to them as 5% grace marks will be accorded to them by the Education Department.
However, on tuesday the Punjab government refused to hijab having made mandatory for girls at the Province’s college.
“This is absolutely wrong news. No such policy [has been announced by the government of Punjab,” said on twitter by the Punjab Government.
Raja Jahangir Information secretary said: “No such summary has been received by the provincial cabinet from the higher education department.”
He said that the minister cannot make rules of his own until he recieves an approval from the Cabinet.
